13 miler. Started at the closed gate into the Rehab area. Ran into the Tamarisk killers. Machette, Chainsaw, Poison and flame thrower guys. They told me it can't be destroyed. A lot of Akaline salt on the ground from the rains. There are even some lakes. At the Stage ruins, I went north up to the first Mesa to find a square rock formation.

I got buzzed at by a Navy copter that circled me then headed off toward the Red Rock Canyon area.

The mesa was about a mile long and narrow. Where I came up it was a foot wide or so. I exited into the Gert wash on the north end off the narrow mesa about 2 miles south of the Gert benchmarks. Missed my planned drop off out of South Mesa by a mile or 2. I ended up in a snake winding canyon that took me to Seco Del Diablo.

Gert Wash

Marker I found haha that was next to a gully off of south mesa.

Nice photos. I have never been in that area myself. Weather looked great.

Yep, the Tamarisk guys will torch them down, I remember once flying in a helicopter over Carrizo Gorge and they were torching tons of them, just burnt spot after another.

Did they tell you anything about their mission?

The group I ran into were just workers. But they did say no headway being made.

Nice copter ride.

Theres was an elderly Chinese lady hiking around in a dress and sandals. She mentioned multiple trucks of different types were going in and out through the week.

Really cool photos of the area! I didn't realize that they are tackling the Tamarisk like that. Thanks for sharing.
