Someone lit one of the Canadian commuter cars on fire yesterday. The Canadian cars are the ones near Tunnel 7, not the ones by the De Anza Resort.

I haven't heard anymore about it. I've reached out to a few people who might have some info, but I haven't heard back from them..

Here are some photos of the rail car several years ago before the graffiti and also one of the inside on Saturday before the fire. WIll have to go make a 2nd trip to review the fire damage now.

I hate people. With people these days it was unfortunately inevitable.
I have been worried about the trestle itself burning with all the visitation and the type of people visiting it.

It is possible the railway may get going again and that the trestle may be bypassed with the original tunnel #15 re-blasted and opened. Can you imagine that? The railway getting more money dumped into it and re-opened again?

I've heard rumors for years, but I am not holding my breath for the railroad to open again. It has proven to be very difficult to keep open and I'm not sure it pencils out economically. Maybe it could be opened with a giant infrastructure bill from DC.
