Not specific to Anza Borrego, but could be a somewhat elegant solution to a sea of 400 foot wind turbines.
You may have already seen stuff on this but I thought it was an interesting option. Solar Roadways

Any option that uses existing infrastructure gets a thumbs up from me. ![Thumbs Up](images/smilies/thumb.gif) It seems ludicrous to tear up public lands to build thes projects.
Since corporations can pick up desert lands for pennies on the dollar, they stand to make a s&*t load of money for their shareholders and investors. Guess that is where the priority is nowadays
