We had planned a 3 day overnight trip to fully explore the southern washes and hills of the Anza Borrego desert. This would give us ample time to search some of the areas we had not visited for a while. Unfortunately as they say the best-laid plans go astray.
High winds (50mph plus higher gusts) forced us to cut our trip short, and our three night trip turned into one. 😟💨 At one point we had to lower our pop-up camper to avoid it being blown off the truck. Well not sure that would have happened, but that is what it felt like during our fitful night’s sleep.
End result was one day of flower hunting which actually turned out to be fairly successful. Enjoy the photos below.
Thanks for the report and pics! I especially appreciate the “carpet” wide shots.
The hills were covered with carpets of Sand Verbena. Really didn’t have to leave your car but where is the fun in that? 😀🌻
Beautiful photos! You captured what a lot of us might miss if we don’t stop to observe. Fantastic! Thank you for posting
Thanks Linda.
What I really liked was the diversity of flowers on this trip.
Still waiting on the cactus blooms but that is a story for another day 😉🌵
I really like the “Desert Poppy Closeup” photos.
Thanks Greg,
It should get really nice out there in the next month when the cactus also start blooming.
