Not specific to Anza Borrego, but could be a somewhat elegant solution to a sea of 400 foot wind turbines.
You may have already seen stuff on this but I thought it was an interesting option. Solar Roadways

Any option that uses existing infrastructure gets a thumbs up from me.  It seems ludicrous to tear up public lands to build thes projects.
Since corporations can pick up desert lands for pennies on the dollar, they stand to make a s&*t load of money for their shareholders and investors. Guess that is where the priority is nowadays
