Just read the winds were bad in the desert yesterday: http://naturalhistorywanderings.com/2013/04/09/83-mph-winds-at-anza-borrego-yesterday/
I wonder how the wind farm did?

Followed ABDSP web cam, went out yesterday while watching HUGE sand storms roll thru. Also talked with an associate out in Palm springs and said " No golf today"

Apparently it was really bad due to all of the grading done for the wind farm Unreal that this was allowed

That was one of the very concerns from the beginning, once they tear back the centuries old desert pavement, it will just be dust for another few centuries. I heard on the news coming home that day how much green wind energy was being produced because of the high winds, record amounts. The news did not cite the sources, only that vague snippet.

We left the Borrego Valley the morning of the storm. Saw a 51 mph gust at the overlook and it was before the wind really came up. A neighbor said power was out from 10 am to 4 am. We will be home in about a week and a half and I curious what we will find. Bet our flag pole is snapped off. edited by DesertWRX on 4/10/2013
