We car camped at Palm Canyon Nov 2 - 7. The weather was sterling. We've been in AB several times during wind alerts, and once the wind completely destroyed our tent (aluminum poles bent, one shattered). It also pitted our car windshield so bad that we needed to have it replaced when we got home. Anyway, this time no wind at all. We took a mid morning hike to the oasis and saw some Rams! We couldn't believe our luck. One eating a barrel cactus, the other riding shotgun for his buddy. It was right where the maintained trail crosses over to the left side of the canyon as you're headed up to the oasis. Further along, we saw two other rams in the dry creek just looking at us. This drought must be brutal for them, as they are down in an area so heavily frequented by us tourists. On our way back we saw a collared ewe. In April of this year there was a tiny waterfall at the oasis. This Nov. it was dry.

That is great you got to see some bighorn sheep, even though I have seen plenty it is always a rush to see them when you are out hiking, never get tired of seeing them! I have seen the wind in Borrego rip sections of roofing off and even tip a toy hauler over once so I can totally understand the wind problem, glad you did not have to experience that again. Thanks for sharing the ram photo, the rams look great.

Great photos! It's always a rush to see sheep, no matter how close you happen to get. Welcome to the forum. - Jim
