Spent the first 4 days of 2015 camping at Aqua Caliente County Park and then exploring from there. Love the hot springs there:
Decided to head towards Rainbow Valley, and passed Butterfield Ranch Resort along the way:
Stopped at Blair Valley:
Then hiked towards Rainbow Valley:
My 14-year-old loved it:
A great day hiking and exploring Anza Borrego State Park!

How funny is all that, snow everywhere..yeah, there was snow still in Culp Valley when we drove home Friday night.

Cool snow! I'd never even heard of Rainbow Canyon until now. Sounds like there are lots of dry falls in that canyon from what I've just read. Any signs of standing water on your trip?

Yes, lots of dry falls (or snow covered falls), but no standing water. The prior day we hiked up to Maidenhair Falls. No water coming down the falls, but on the way back to the car what little standing water there was on some rocks had turned to ice and there was frost on the ground!
