12/28/2013 Topic: Staying at and hiking from Fish Creek Campground lessthanjoey

Hi there, We just moved to San Diego from Northern California a few months ago and are finally getting around to taking a short camping trip out in Anza-Borrego. The Fish Creek area looks spectacular, but would it work with a 2WD vehicle ("normal clearance" station wagon) to get to the campground there + hiking directly from the campground or is it not worth it without 4WD? If it's not a good option, where else would you recommend this time of year? We'd prefer small crowds and seclusion but obviously also like to see the beautiful landscape. Thanks! Joe
