Hi there!

I'm new to this site but have been an avid visitor of Anza Borrego for quite some time. My parents introduced the park to my sister and I in the early 1980s when we used to ride our dirt bikes from the Superstition Mountains to the Iron Door in Ocotillo Wells and then further north into Anza Borrego. I wasn't a fan of AB at first because you needed a street legal bike, and I didn't have one. My parents loved it though as there were far fewer people racing around unchecked like at Superstition Mtns or Glamis, and so they purchased some property in the early 1980s. Once I turned 16 and bought a Toyota 4x4, I fell in love with Anza Borrego. My dad and I actually drove the entire length of Coyote Canyon in the early 90s before they closed off the middle portion permanently. That was a fun trip that I will remember forever. My wife and I are members of the ABNHA and have recently been attending many hikes since our kids left for college. FREE BIRDS AT LAST!!! I recently climbed to the top of Villager Peak which has been on my bucket list of peaks for over 20 years. Finishing that peak has raised my interest in Peak 6582 and that is what led me here. I was searching for different routes on the web and I eventually wound up here. Anyway, it's nice to meet everyone!

P.S. I'm working with James McKenna and Diana Lindsay and we're going to resurrect the Peg Leg Liar's contest next Spring 2023, so get your tall tales ready! |

Volunteer off road vehicle recovery...

My son and I helped numerous people out during the Super Bloom in March 2017 when they were stuck in soft sand on Old Henderson Road. We must have pulled out 4 different vehicles and once we were done, we had the entire road to ourselves. |
