Saw this on youtube. Looks like the fingers of the fresh water lake went further west during the earlier "fills". That would explain some of the traces of travertine on some of the rocks and rock tools noted above the last high water stand. Most likely due to land upheaval and subsidence. Question tough to solve. How many fresh water fills of the ancient lake during past history. Post a guess :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RHu2h5CF9s
