Hard to get places in Anza Borrego which require 4WD or hiking

Hello,
I am thinking of doing a 1 night backpacking trip up the Pinyon Ridge trail, however I have a low clearance 2WD vehicle, so I was wondering where would be a good spot to start ? I do not mind hiking more miles to reach the trailhead, I just don't know where would be the best place to leave my car overnight. Any suggestions?

Depends on how much you want to drive on dirt. Just drive until you are no longer comfortable and turn around. You can always park at the Jasper Trail and Montezuma Grade junction and hike from there. You should be able to get a passenger car down the Jasper Trail, maybe even to Old Culp Valley Road. I was up there a couple times this summer and I don't think they got any thunderstorms since then to wash it out. It is possible a passenger car could be driven along Old Culp Valley Road to the trail head via Jasper. I would not drive Old Culp Valley Road from the bottom up in a passenger car.
I definitely would not take a passenger car down the Jasper Trail into Grapevine.
