Your photos are incredible. I appreciate everyone who lugs around an SLR and gets superior results like this. As much as I'd love to take these kinds of shots, I can't get myself to spend the money or carry the extra weight.

When I was younger I hung around a group where every summer we were in the sierras. We packed steel weights into the packs in winter hikes to build up the legs for the weight required for a 5 day trip. Recently I hooked up with one of those friends to do Jacumba from Montero. He had the steel weighs. I told him this was going to rather steep. I on the other hand started using freezer zip bags full of sand. Needless to say near the ridge line he died. Were both mid 60's. now, me I just dumped the sand out. I still pack some weight. When on the longer hikes I only pack one extra lens 10-17 wide. Here in the desert most of my weight on an over nighter is water. My daily backpack is a 60ltr a large pack stuffed full of things but I hold the weight to 30lbs.
