Had an awesome weekend and as luck would have it my kids were able to see their first bighorn sheep sighting. The Bighorn were walking on the railroad tracks and we followed them for about 500 yards driving next to them in the truck. I can't believe they were not afraid of the loud roar of the diesel, but they did stick very close together. Seeing them up close and how big their horns are is amazing. (I don't have the greatest zoom on my camera and had to sharpen the photos a bit)

Those are some great pictures. That looks like a herd of all older rams (male). No ewes or lambs. I will be out there this weekend, hope to see some also!

Wow! I can't believe how close to where I saw the bighorn sheep is the Ocotillo Wind Farm Development site going to be located. I did not know how extensive this area is going to be. If you look on the map and zoom in http://www.blm.gov/pgdata/etc/medialib/blm/ca/pdf/cdd/energy/0.Par.53015.File.dat/CACA051552_for_Web.pdf
I was west of the dos cabezas mine on the railroad tracks...it is about 2.5 miles away!
