Here is the link to the article in the latest issue of Truck Camper Magazine. It has a great article on Nolan (anutami) , his rig and all the wonderful places he takes his family. Lots of great photos too.

Great article Nolan. Saw your Death Valley pics. Girlfriend and I are headed there early Nov. for a week. Any suggestions on must see sites and camping spots? Was planning to hike Telescope Pk but the rest of the trip is open. Thanks. Tom

Tom The campground (Mahogany) at the Telescope Peak trail head is good, you can also camp lower down at Thorndike or Wildrose. The Charcoal Kilns are on the way up so make sure to stop there. I would recommend visiting Ubehebe and the Mesquite campground nearby, it is self payment site though but has water/bathrooms. I can send you more info if you like, email me direct for specific locations.

Telescope peak is a great hike on a clear day. I'll scan some photos someday Most canyons have roads/ trails to the old mining camps, and there are tons of them. We spent weeks in the Panamints and Death Valley ranges years back. There are SO many stories of the 49'r crossings, native attacks, lost Gold, etc...etc..
BE Careful of mine shafts, they are Everywhere! Asbestos, Lead, Silver, mines Abandoned Explosives, etc..., we blew up later...My friends dog fell down a mine shaft while inside a horizontail mine about 1/4 mile in.

Death Valley is soooo huge there are many many areas, We spent several days out there, we first drove into Wildrose camp (free), and checked out the Charcoal Kilns, Eureka Mine and Aguereberry Point.
The Kilns
The Next few days we headed up to Marble Canyon and Offroad camped (for free in there) It was a pretty rugged road, but few people back in there. Marble canyon is a must see and there is some rock art
Marble Canyon
We then headed to the town of Beatty for a cheap hotel and replentish of supplies, we checked out the ghost town of Rhyolite which was pretty cool...Don't get gas in Furnace Creek, It is way better to drive to Beatty for gas as it will probably be $2.00 a gallon difference!! We headed back into DVNP via Titus Canyon Road which is another Must do!! What a drive!!
From titus Canyon road we headed north to the Ubehebe crater, and the Racetrack which were awesome, but the Racetrack was the where we saw most of the people.
We were all about the backcountry camping and the only campground we stayed at was Wildrose. Hope that helps

Thanks for all the DV suggestions! Sounds like a week isn't near enough time to really check the place out. Tom
