What Is This??

I kinda think it looks like a cap on a metal curtain rod but I'm assuming that may be incorrect! So far, a cap on a metal fence, a miner candle holder and Daren's "metal stabby thing with swirly design" are the top possibilities IMG_1643 by tomteske, on Flickr
