Took a trip out to Split Mountain last evening. Wow, has it changed! Even the way in. Lots of soft sand, lot's of rocks washed down and 1 Chevy truck! Not sure how they will get that out. It's definitely a 4WD road now. And probably will be for a while.

Thanks for the update, maybe I will just take my enduro bike out. I feel bad for the truck owner, I have to ask though is there any kind of liability for leaving your truck washed out in a state park?? Anybody who has been skeptical of flash floods and the danger, there is your proof....damn....

Wow. Crazy. I haven't been over that way in a few years. I am liking the " It's definitely a 4WD road " Will have to take a trip out
Like Daren says real bummer for the truck owner. Glad they made it out safe though

Even though the day started out nice there were flash flood warnings for that day. Luckily 911 on cell phones work without having any bars. A helicopter flew them out from the Wind Caves.

Epic ! That truck is so scrunched up that you couldn't get your hands into the glove box to rifle around for loose change ! I like visiting Fossil Canyon whenever that area gets floods.... new stuff gets exposed.

Daren;
Yeah there is definite liability for the truck. If they don't get it out of there, and the State has to remove it, they will definitely be getting a bill. Just to add insult to injury!

State parks says that it is the owner's responsibility to remove it. After that it could get more expensive I bet!
