While the U.S. 80 Series Toyota Land Cruisers all came from the factory with an automatic transmission, my diesel conversion has a 5-Speed manual which I really like.

Lately I had been losing fluid from the clutch master so, instead of just topping it off like I had been doing for the last month I decide to replace it.
Job took about an hour out at my friend Michael’s West Coast Cruisers shop in Ramona.

Can you tell which is the new master cylinder?

Decide to replace old clutch slave cylinder also

Had to reuse plunger mechanism from old slave cylinder since new one did not come with one

New master cylinder installed

New slave cylinder installed

Once everything was installed and lines hooked backed up, I bled the master and slave cylinders.
Clutch works great now and should give many more miles of service and not leave me stranded out in Anza Borrego smile

Bob;
Have you seen the 2013 Land Cruisers yet. MSRP is $80,000. Yikes!

Done that repair on my old Datsun Pick up back in the 70's. Drove that thing over 250,000 miles on 3 different engines wink
BTW Nice new forum format. I can dig it!
